About

Sodiq is a Ph.D. student of Public Administration and Policy at the University at Albany, SUNY. His research interests cover public policy (education and socio-economic policies), nonprofit, and international development. He has over four years of work experience in international development, banking, consulting, and academia. Sodiq is passionate about activities and research to enhance the realization of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1 and 4 (No Poverty and Quality Education, respectively) in sub-Saharan Africa.

Sodiq earned an MPA degree (4.0/4.0) from Bowling Green State University (BGSU), Ohio, and a bachelor's degree (Fiirst-class) from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Nigeria. He also briefly attended the American University in Cairo (AUC). In terms of work experience, Sodiq has recently worked for the United Nations, Bowling Green State University, Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) PLC, and Kano State Polytechnic.

Sodiq is a former African Graduate Fellow at the American University in Cairo (AUC); and a former President of the National Association of Public Administration Students (NAPAS), Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Nigeria. He has affiliations with the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management (APPAM), the American Political Science Association (APSA), the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA), the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).
